UAE ministry warns residents against consuming deer placenta supplement
Residents in the UAE are being warned about the risk of a dietary supplement derived from animals that’s being promoted on social media.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention says manufacturers of the supplement ‘Purtier Placenta’ falsely claim their product can cure diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.
The product, which sells for more than AED 1,000, is said to be derived from the stem cells of a rare species of deer found in New Zealand.
Officials say consuming the product could cause serious health complications.
