UAE makes big leap in ‘Ease of doing Business’ index
The UAE is now ranked as the 11th-easiest country in the world for doing business.
It’s jumped 10 spots in the World Bank’s annual ‘ease of doing business’ index, while also retaining top spot in the MENA region.
The UAE scored high on factors such as getting an electricity connection, paying taxes and dealing with construction permits.
The country has also been lauded for its efforts in ensuring easier property registration and quicker access to credit.
New Zealand tops the list of 190 nations, followed by Singapore and Denmark.
The overall rankings are determined by sorting the aggregate scores on 10 different topics, each consisting of several indicators.
