UAE Food Bank collects 2,160 tonnes of food
More than 2,100 tonnes of food items have been collected through the UAE Food Bank since its launch last year.
It involves the storage of surplus food from hotels, supermarkets and restaurants, to be handed out to those in need through different charity groups.
The bank’s plans for Ramadan include the distribution of Suhour meals to workers as well as RTA bus drivers.
Around 100 fridges have also been placed outside mosques for food collection, across Dubai, Ajman and Ras al-Khaimah.
