UAE, allies impose sanctions on Hezbollah leadership
The UAE has joined other GCC countries and the US in imposing economic sanctions on the senior leadership of Hezbollah’s Shura Council.
According to national news agency WAM, the coordinated move is aimed at disrupting the group’s support for terrorists and acts of terrorism.
The list includes 10 senior Hezbollah leaders and at least four entities connected to them.
The latest sanctions have been imposed jointly by the seven-member Terrorist Financing and Targeting Centre (TFTC), which was announced last year to strengthen cooperation to counter the financing of terrorism.
