Trump foundation sued over ‘charity violations’
New York’s attorney general has accused the Trump Foundation of fraudulent dealings and campaign funding violations, claiming the family misused the charity for their own benefit.
Barbara Underwood has asked a state judge to dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation and to bar President Donald Trump from managing a charity for 10 years.
Trump is accused of designing the foundation to influence the 2016 election and even spend $10,000 of charity money to buy a painting of himself for his golf clubs.
The foundation has denied the charges, with Trump taking to Twitter to accuse “sleazy New York Democrats” for “doing everything they can to sue me”.
