The Grill – live from Barasti – keeps you bang up to date with ALL the live sport across the globe every Saturday from 4-7pm.
Over the course of the three hours, our expert panelists deliberate, discuss and debate the week’s biggest stories.
Some of the biggest names in sport have also been known to pop in by from time to time with the likes of Freddie Kanoute, Paul Gascoigne, David Haye, Lewis Moody, Justin Marshall, Shaun Pollock and Darren Gough all previous guests.
There are also plenty of chances to win top prizes. Past competitions have included tickets to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai Tennis Championships… and a trip to New York to see the Yankees play!
A firm favourite on Dubai’s media circuit, Tom Urquhart regularly features on the UAE’s most influential Brit lists.
A talented broadcaster and former international print journalist, Tom has worked both on the airwaves and in front of the camera in numerous roles over the past decade.
Tom has worked with Dubai Eye 103.8 since its inception and can also be heard every Saturday on The Grill.
An accomplished international journalist and ARN’s Head of Sport, listeners have enjoyed Chris’s encyclopedic sporting knowledge and cynical wit for more than seven years. The past three have been dedicated to hosting Sports Tonight on Dubai Eye 103.8 where interviews with the biggest names in the business have made him the envy of his friends, who still think his job is far more glamorous than it actually is! Boasting exclusive interviews with legends like Michael Phelps, Anthony Joshua and Roger Federer, Chris was also the first journalist in the region to secure an exclusive, one-on-one interview with Argentine legend Diego Maradona after his then appointment as Al Wasl boss. Away from the mic Chris is also a goalkeeper of some repute (or at least, that’s what he’d have us believe!). He also likes to remind people that not only has he lined up alongside Diego Maradona on the football field, he’s also beaten him at Fussball. Just don’t get him started!
Award winning sports journalist, Robbie Greenfield would likely feature on your fantasy quiz team wish list. Something of a sporting trivia egghead, Robbie has a particular penchant for golf and boasts an impressive line up of editorial hole in ones. For the past two years, ARN has shamelessly capitalised on his knowledge, placing him front and centre in front of the mic to present Sports Tonight.
During a career in publishing and broadcasting that included an eight-year stint editing Golf Digest Middle East, Robbie’s more surreal sporting encounters include upsetting Martin Kaymer in a beat the pro event, bear-hugging FIFA presidential hopeful Luis Figo and booking an Uber for Chris Eubank.
Robbie is an integral member of the broadcast team for the wide range of sporting events that ARN partners with, including the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7s, the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and the Dubai World Cup to name a few.
Chris and Robbie have proved so popular that they’ve been promoted. You now have the pleasure of getting to hear them host our new evening drive show, Off Script with Chris & Robbie where you can expect a fine line in irreverent journalism in this alternative take on news, entertainment and sport… a subject always closet to their hearts. Tune in every weekday from five, with a themed sports hour, Off Script, Extra Time from 19.00. Expect beards, balls and everything in between!
