Stokes felt 'under threat of immediate attack' before fight

A court has heard that Ben Stokes felt he was “under threat of immediate attack” when he was involved in a fist fight with two men.

The revelations came on the third day of the English cricketer’s trial at Bristol Crown Court.

The all-rounder, who will miss India’s second Test against England which gets underway on Thursday, denies affray.

A bouncer alleges that Stokes became abusive after he was refused entry back into Bristol’s Mbargo nightclub.

The trial continues on Thursday.
