Sheikh Hamdan launches new ‘Day for Dubai’ initiative
Dubai residents should dedicate at least one day per year to volunteering.
That’s the message from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, as he launched the new ‘Day for Dubai’ initiative, highlighting the importance of volunteer work in local communities.
Sheikh Hamdan made the announcement during a board meeting of the Executive Council of Dubai, which was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
The Crown Prince set an example himself leading a group of divers in the Dubai Marina cleaning the seabed off rubbish.
