Peru expels Venezuelan ambassador after constituent assembly formed
Peru has expelled its Venezuelan ambassador in protest to the newly formed constituent assembly.
In response, Venezuela said the charge d’affaires at the Peruvian embassy in Caracas had five days to pack up and leave the country.
The forming of the assembly is being seen as an attempt by socialist President Nicolas Maduro to hold on to power.
Anti-government protests have claimed the lives of more than a 120 people in Venezuela since April.
