WIDER MIDDLE EAST SEES ONLY MARGINAL INCREASE IN TOURIST ARRIVALS
The wider Middle East saw a mere 1% increase in international tourist arrivals in the first four months of 2012.
That’s compared to the same period last year, and is a direct result of the Arab Spring movement.
The UAE bucked the regional trend, and along with Saudi Arabia and Oman saw “steady growth”.
According to new figures released by United Nations World Tourism Organisation, the region lagged behind global growth of 5%.
