UAE ENTERS TOP THREE IN COMPETITIVENESS SURVEY

The UAE has been named the third-most competitive economy in the Gulf region.

Qatar topped the list compiled by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, followed by Saudi Arabia.

Experts say the Emirates could improve in areas such as contract enforcement and investor protection.

The UAE was ranked 27th globaly in a ranking of competitiveness by the World Economic Forum earlier this year.

Emirates Airline is the world's best
Emirates has been awarded the highly coveted 'World's Best Airline' award. Company officials were presented the prize by Skytrax at the Paris Airshow.
Al Sufouh Tram project on track to completion
The Al Sufouh Tram project is on track to open in November next year. The RTA says 62% of the construction work has been completed.
UAE and Australia sign agreement to combat human trafficking
The UAE and Australia have signed an agreement to help them both combat human trafficking.
