SYRIA 'ACCEPTS' EID CEASEFIRE

President Bashar al-Assad's government has reportedly agreed to a ceasefire during Eid al-Adha.

According to the UN's envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, most opposition factions have also agreed to observe ceasefire during the period.

The government however has said it would make its final decision tomorrow.

Brahimi said he hopes to use the lull to "discuss a longer and more effective ceasefire".
