STILL NO DECISION ON SYRIA AT THE UN

The United Nations Security Council remains deeply divided over the Syrian crisis.

After hearing from international peace envoy Kofi Annan, Western powers released their own draft resolution which competes with a Russian text.

The Western version calls for sanctions on Syria if it does not comply and the two texts differ on the future of the UN mission on the ground in the country.
