ROMNEY UNWELCOME AT AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEET
The man who hopes to replace U.S. President Barack Obama has been trying to win over African-American voters.
The expected Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was speaking to American civil rights groups in Texas.
He said if he won the election in November he would help improve the economy and job prospects for out-of-work black Americans.
Although he is unlikely to steal black votes from President Obama, who had 95% African-American support in 2008, the presidential hopeful said he believed he would be a better president to help African-Americans.
