RTA OFFERS COMPENSATION TO HOUSEHOLDS DISTURBED BY METRO

The Roads and Transport Authority is to compensate as many as 17 families affected by disturbances from the Metro station in Al Rashidiya.

Executive Director Mattar Al Tayer has told media a number of compensation packages have been approved for residents living near the Metro depot station.

Some sources say the payout could be as much as AED 250,000 for each house.

The RTA is also to build sound insulation in several homes to ensure the privacy of affected residents, as well as a cement barrier that will absorb the ground vibrations caused by the Metro.

The master plan for the new Rashid Hospital has been unveiled. The AED3 billion development will consist of three towers and include six specialised health centres and two hotels.
