Qatargas has signed a 15 year deal to ship liquefied natural gas to Japan's Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO). 



The deal is the first long-term bilateral agreement between Qatar's gas operator and KEPCO.

It commits Qatargas to delivering half a million tonnes of LNG each year, for the next 15 years starting in 2013.

KEPCO, Japan's second largest electricity company, has been a customer of Qatargas since 1994.
