PROBE LAUNCHED INTO DUBAI HOTEL FIRE

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of a fire that broke out at a hotel in Dubai’s Al Ras area yesterday.

According to reports, one person suffered burns while 12 others were rescued after getting trapped inside the lift.

Guests were quickly evacuated from the three-storied Al Firdous hotel as civil defence teams doused the flames in less than an hour.

Initial reports suggest the blaze erupted among furniture and other items stored improperly under the staircase on the hotel’s ground floor.

The Dubai Police Air Wing has rescued tourists lost in the desert earlier this week.

Officials in the capital are looking at ways to ensure greater safety for students.
