MORE COST-EFFECTIVE TO MAKE MOVIES IN DUBAI

Dubai wants to make it cheaper to produce movies in the Emirate.

The new Dubai Film and TV Commission chairman, Jamal Al Sharif, wants to emulate countries like New Zealand and Turkey in their ability to attract movie-makers.

He said: "An interesting emerging trend is that viewers are increasingly making travel decisions as a result of exposure to locations featured in popular films or TV shows.

Successful film-producing countries say one in ten visitors arrives to see film locations and their surrounding areas.
