INDIAN POLITICAL PARTY LAUNCHES PROTEST AGAINST RETAIL REFORMS

A key regional party in India is holding a protest rally against the recently announced reforms in the country’s retail sector.

The demonstration in the capital New Delhi is the first of many proposed by the Trinamool Congress.

The agitation is led by the powerful party chief Mamta Banerjee who’s against opening up the retail sector to global supermarket chains.

She recently withdrew her ministers from the coalition government, as a mark of protest.
