HUSBAND CONVICTED OF BRINGING WIFE TO UAE ON ILLEGAL PASSPORT
 
A husband and his wife have been jailed for a year each, after allegedly using a relative’s passport to the gain the woman illegal entry to the UAE.
 
According to reports, the 36-year-old Arab man doctored his niece’s passport.
 
A court heard how he used the falsified ID to bring his 27-year-old Egyptian wife to the country – after she had previously been deported.
 
The wife was reported as saying she went along with the scheme because she was four months pregnant and wanted to see her husband. 
 
Meanwhile her husband denied forging the passport.
 
The verdict is subject to appeal within 15 days.
