GOOGLE TAKES ON THE IPAD

Google has unveiled a new device designed to compete strongly with companies like Amazon and Apple in the increasingly popular tablet computer market.

The Nexus 7 has been launched at the company's annual developer conference and is being priced in the US at a very competitive price, $199.

Google also unveiled a new home-entertainment device and new software platform called Jelly Bean for its Android-run mobile devices.
