ETIHAD COULD TAKE STAKES IN TWO MORE AIRLINES

Etihad Airways could take stakes in up to two more airlines, Arabian Business is reporting.

CEO James Hogan says the airline could look anywhere there were opportunities for scale and cutting costs.

Etihad already has stakes in Virgin Australia, Aer Lingus, Air Seychelles and AirBerlin.

The UAE capital's economy grew 7.7% year on year in 2012. The Statistics Centre, Abu Dhabi attributes it to huge financial surpluses, strong growth in non-oil sectors and high oil prices.
Speeding taxi drivers in Dubai are set to face further controls. The RTA has installed a new system on cabs called AMAN which is a self powered sensor that monitors the vehicles.
Tens of thousands of people across the globe today are marking 'World Refugee Day', in recognition of the situation of refugees worldwide.
