DUBAI MUNICIPALITY TO CHARGE DESERT CAMPERS

As scores of residents prepare to go camping this Eid, the Municipality has announced a new permit to pitch tents in the desert.

The new permit allows campers a maximum area of 300 square meters to occupy, at a cost of 22 fils per square meter, and is valid for six months.

Ahmed Pervez, from UAE Offroaders, is in favor of regulating campsites in the desert, but says it could put campers off:
