CHINA LANDSLIDE BURIES SCHOOL

A landslide in southwestern China has toppled an elementary school building and buried 18 students and another person.

The landslide struck a village in Yiliang county in Yunnan province.

Rescue workers are at the site, while residents living nearby have been evacuated.

The students were inside the school on a holiday. They were apparently making up for classes suspended after two earthquakes hit the region in early September.
