I will be celebrating my 1st anniversary in Dubai at the beginning of next month. I moved over to Dubai having been more active than the average person whilst living in the UK and since I have moved here I have struggled to adapt to change in climate and lifestyle and just haven’t been able to find my ‘rhythm’ when it comes to health and fitness!
In the UK I would cycle the 45 minute journey to work 3 times a week, take regular spinning classes (often stopping off on my cycle home from work for a class!), go surfing and I also played netball on a competitive level. I have been extremely fortunate with my netball since moving to Dubai as I hit the ground running and found a fantastic team to play for, however I have definitely noticed my match fitness and overall general fitness has decreased. I really used to pride myself on my active daily life while in the UK but I have found since living in Dubai that I have definitely let this slide!
My fitness goals are that I would like to reduce my overall body fat percentage to what it was prior to moving to Dubai (roughly 23%). I’d like to be able to play a netball match and feel like I don’t have to ‘hold back’ at certain points to save energy. I’d like to be more motivated to get myself moving more often and stop making excuses for myself such as ‘it’s too hot’ or ‘I’m too tired from work’ (I mainly sit at a desk all day yet this is still my favourite excuse!) More than anything I just want to find a good balance and get back to the active way of life that I had in the UK!

I’m keen to gain some motivation and a kick start. Not to lose the good work on weight loss I achieved last year. Maybe meet people who are in the same boat.

I have historically been able to keep my fitness and weight in check but after a period of unemployment, I didn't do any fitness and gained about 10kg. I would like this summer to kick start myself back into action and maybe do some activities I have not done before. I have begun dieting and feel like that is in hand but want to work really hard and get as fit as I can so that I stay with the program once the summer is over.

I have been trying to lose 8-10 kilos in weight for about 6 years! I’ve tried boot camps, yoga, bizarre diets and meal plans; I’ve played team sports; tried BoxFit and spent weeks in the gym before ruining everything with too many OTT Dubai weekends. I’m happy to take on most challenges and any sports based activities. I’m currently working on managing my diet and trying to motivate myself to have a ‘dry’ month or so in yet another effort to get in shape.

I would like to see a difference in both my fitness levels, stamina and have dropped a size or two. I’m a confident person in general and glass half full usually but I hate the extra weight I carry around and I have had enough. I know I can do better but I can’t do it all on my own. My husband and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary on August 15th and I don’t want to reach that milestone weighing what I do now. The benefit of this programme would be a kick start to a better personal exercise regime, support from a team when I may be having a rotten day and just don’t want to do anything and to learn from people who do this for a living would be invaluable and I could take what I learn and continue it.

My aim is to get fitter even though I played a lot of squash some time back, football even further back! I have tried to keep fit at my local gym. But I find it difficult to motivate myself and push harder, so end up running on the treadmill doing a few weights and going home. I need to be pushed. I joined Corey’s Original Boot Camp 3 years ago, completed 2 months and the results were fantastic. I thought I would carry it on myself, but that never happened! So here goes!
