Nepal floods death toll could rise
Flooding and landslides in Nepal caused by severe weather and torrential rain have pushed the death toll to 49.
According to officials, the figure could rise after dozens of people were reported missing around the country’s southern plains.
Many people have also been injured and more than 5,000 have been evacuated, with 34,000 houses being submerged.
Search and rescue operations are being carried out by the army and police, while the Red Cross estimated more than 100,000 have been affected by the disaster.
