Nawaz Sharif orders reopening of Pak-Afghan border

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered the immediate reopening of the border with Afghanistan.

His decision comes a month after the borders were closed following a series of terror attacks across Pakistan.

Sharif has termed the latest move as a goodwill gesture but said he hoped the Afghan government would take measures to ease the security concerns.

He added that the prolonged border closure was against the interests of the people and economies of the two countries.
