More than 20 Afghan police killed as Taliban attack checkpoints
At least 22 Afghan police officers have been killed and 15 others injured in Kandahar following a series of Taliban attacks on over a dozen checkpoints.
Authorities said none of the police checkpoints was captured in the overnight attacks.
They added that the attacks left 45 insurgents dead and 35 wounded.
Taliban has recently increased attacks on the country’s southern provinces. On Monday, eight Afghan police officers were killed when Taliban fighters attacked a security post in the western province of Farah.
