More air traffic controllers are needed in the UAE

The development of an air traffic control training centre is essential as the need for Air Traffic Controllers increases in the UAE.

This is according to experts involved in the creation of the Emirates Aviation University and Airways New Zealand ATC training programme.

With Dubai International recently taking over as the busiest airport in the world and Dubai World Central becoming one of the busiest cargo hubs worldwide, the need for air traffic talent is immediate.

Dr Ahmed Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University, says there is already a shortage in the industry and explains why they decided now is the right time for the center.
