Minimum wage set for Pakistani workers in UAE

A minimum wage of AED 800 has been set for Pakistani blue-collar workers in the UAE.

That’s according to Pakistani Ambassador to the UAE, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, who highlighted that workers would also be provided accommodation, food and health insurance.

Addressing a community gathering at the consulate in Dubai, he said the minimum wage rule, which has been in place for over a year, has been established “to stop exploitation” of labourers.

Khan added that work is on to implement a similar pay system in other Gulf countries.
