Emmie & Evie Part 4
For a few weeks now, there’s one question that’s come up, from listeners, after my chats with Evie, and it’s this; If Evie is taking Emmie backpacking for a year, what does her dad think about it. So, that’s the question I started with this week.
I also got the chance to speak to Emmie for the first time which was a bit of a treat.
Sunsets like this! Say no more…
Emmie is all about the swimming!
Doing a cracking job of embracing change there Emmie!
Evie & Emmie’s Trial Run Continues
We caught up with Mum Evie and 5yr old Emmie to see how their trial run was going. Did they blow the budget? Did they learn anything from their Borneo experience? Do they still love the idea of spending a year with just their backpacks?
They definitely had a fantastic time together, by the sounds of it!
A lot of people have been asking ‘Where’s Emmie’s dad, and how does he feel about her leaving for the year?” I don’t know, but I will ask Evie the question next week on the show.
Evie And Emmie’s Big Adventure – The Trial Run (Part 1)
Evie is a single mum from Australia and she’s taking Emmie, her 5 year old daughter, on the adventure of a lifetime. They leave Australia early next year to spend a full year travelling with back packs. Right now they’re on a trail run in Borneo. They’ve only previously done resorts so need to see how Evie will take to the backpacker lifestyle. Sounds like, apart from missing her best friend, she’s doing well! We’ll catch up with Evie and Emmie again next week and see how they’re getting on!
Meet Evie and Emmie
We’re going to be following Evie and her five year old daughter Emmie, as they prepare for their biggest adventure yet – 12 months backpacking through south east Asia. This Australian mum and daughter kicked off their overseas adventures when Emmie was four months old, and have travelled to Fiji, America, Mexico, Barbados and Singapore.
Next week they are headed to Borneo to test their budget travel skills.
The girls will start off on their year-long adventure in January 2016, and hope to inspire mums and their kids to be brave and bold and travel the world.
We spoke to Evie today to find out why she wants to do this now and how she can afford to take a year out…
Follow their adventure, on The Ticket, every Wednesday at 2.45pm!
