Major fire burns through Egypt’s Nile Valley
More than 30 people have been injured after a major fire tore through palm plantation in Egypt’s Nile Valley.
According to local media reports, air force helicopters were needed to fight the fir, which threatened residential areas.
The blaze broke out near the Nile Valley provincial village of el-Rashda.
A high state of emergency was declared by authorities as hundreds of homes were evacuated.
