Suzanne Radford recently caught up with Michelin Star Chef Jason Atherton over here at Marina Social his flagship Dubai restaurant based at the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai Marina.
Michelin Star British Chef Jason Atherton, was born in Sheffield, and ‘ran away’ from home at 16 to pursue a life in food. Early in his career, he trained with chefs such as Pierre Koffmann, Nico Ladenis, Ferran Adria at the acclaimed el Bulli, and Marco Pierre White.
In 2001, Jason joined the Gordon Ramsay group where he went on to open Ramsay’s Dubai restaurant Verre. He returned to the UK in 2005 to open another Ramsay restaurant and by 2010 he was ready to go it alone and went onto open Pollen Street Social and in 2011 – six months after opening it won a distinguished Michelin star.
The Michelin-starred chef has since opened across a diverse portfolio of venues, expanding from London to cities across the world including New York, Shanghai, Sydney, Hong Kong, Cebu and of course here in Dubai with Marina Social based at the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai Marina.
