Japan’s Kei Saito suspended from Winter Olympics for doping
Kei Saito has become the first athlete to be suspended from the 2018 Winter Olympics after a positive doping test.
According to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Japanese speed skater failed an out-of-competition doping test prior to the Games.
The 21-year-old has tested positive for acetalozamide, a banned diuretic which is considered a masking agent.
He was expected to take part in the men’s 5,000 metre relay on Tuesday.
