IRENA study says CO2 emissions can be phased out by 2060

20 March 2017
A study by Abu Dhabi-based International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) found that CO2 emissions can be reduced by 2050 and completely phased out by 2060.

The agency says there need to be changes in the global energy system, which is a major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions.

Experts are lauding the UAE’s ambitious efforts to increase its use of clean energy in the coming years.
