Health Ministry recommends pre-travel vaccinations
The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) is urging travellers as well as pilgrims to take the necessary vaccinations at least two to three weeks prior to their journey.
It is to ensure the effectiveness of the vaccines and help avoid complications during the trips or on return.
Dr. Fatima Al Attar, Director of International Health Regulations at MOHAP, has this message.
Dr. Al Attar has reiterated the importance of taking note of travel tips and advisories issued by countries.
She says it is essential to stay informed about outbreaks of epidemics and new diseases, prior to travel.
Dr. Al Attar is also reminding travellers that they can avail the services of the Traveller Health Clinics at MOHAP’s preventive medicine departments throughout the year.
