H.H. Sheikh Mohammed pardons 700 prisoners
Seven hundred prisoners have been pardoned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The move has been taken ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and is aimed at offering the convicts the chance of a fresh start in life, as well as easing the suffering of their families.
Officials praised the gesture, highlighting how it will have a positive impact on the community.
Dubai Police Prosecution has now commenced the legal procedures to implement the order from His Highness.
