Gunmen trap Afghan workers in attack on education office
At least two people have been killed and five others wounded after gunmen attacked the office of the education department in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday.
Two explosions were heard near the scene as the gunmen continued to battle security forces.
Officials were unable to confirm how many people were trapped inside the building, and added that the final death toll may be much higher.
It was the third major attack in less than two weeks in Jalalabad.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
