GCC nations adopt UAE’s electric vehicle regulations
The UAE’s draft regulations on the use of electric vehicles have been adopted by other GCC countries.
Officials say it’s due to their positive features around safety requirements, standards of vehicle performance and their adaptation to the region’s climate.
The GCC Standardisation Organisation is now drafting their own regulations, based on the UAE’s documents.
Protecting the environment from pollution, encouraging economic growth through new sources, and supporting eco-friendly concepts are said to be the main reasons behind the adopting of the directives.
