Frosty relations between China and Australia thaw
Relations between China and Australia appear to be thawing.
China imposed an unofficial ban on top government ministers for more than six months, after being accused of interfering in Australia’s domestic affairs.
Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne will hold talks with Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a bid to encourage closer ties and mutual respect between the two countries.
Businesses will welcome the news, as China accounts for 24 percent of Australia’s goods and services trade.
