France will pay more to EU to fill Brexit hole

French President Emmanuel Macron has said his country is willing to pay more into the European budget to help fill the hole created by Brexit.

During his speech to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, he called for the budget to be completely redrawn.

Macron also proposed creating a new tax on the digital economy to help finance the EU budget and insisted European countries should work on more closely to harmonise fiscal systems and tax levels.
