Inter Milan moved to the top of Italy’s Serie A standings following a 5-0 win over Chievo on Sunday.
Croatian winger Ivan Perisic scored a stunning hat-trick, while Mauro Icardi and Milan Skriniar completed the rout.
Inter are currently one point ahead of Napoli who lost 1-0 at home to third-placed Juventus on Friday.
Elsewhere, Serie A newcomers Benevento got their first point in the top flight, thanks to a last-minute equaliser from their goalkeeper.
Alberto Brignoli scored with a flying header deep into stoppage time to give them a 2-2 draw with AC Milan.
The result was another embarrassment for Milan who were playing their first match under new coach and their former midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, after sacking Vincenzo Montella last week.
Meanwhile, in Spain’s La Liga, Valencia slipped to their first defeat this season, losing 1-0 at ten-man Getafe.
The result was surprising considering the hosts played for over an hour with a man less, after Mauro Arambarri was sent off with just 25 minutes on the clock after picking up his second booking.
Second-placed Valencia are now five points behind leaders Barcelona who drew 2-2 with Celta Vigo on Saturday.
