Fiji escapes widespread damage from Cyclone Gita
Fiji has escaped major damage from Cyclone Gita that tore through the Pacific Island nation late Tuesday.
Cyclone Gita brought winds of up to 275 km/hr and heavy rain across Fiji’s southernmost islands and knocked out communications.
However, the National Disaster Management Office recorded minimal damage to infrastructure.
Cyclone Gita caused extensive damage in Tonga on Monday night.
