FBI agent charged after accidental backflipping shooting

An off-duty FBI agent accused of accidentally shooting a man while dancing in a club in Denver has been charged with second-degree assault.

Twenty-nine-year-old Chase Bishop turned himself in to the Denver Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Video footage of the incident, which went viral on social media, shows Bishop perform a backflip on the dance floor when his gun falls out of his pocket and fires as he tries to pick it up.

A bystander has suffered a serious but non-life threatening injury to the lower leg.
