Exxon Mobil in deal with Russia

The Russian President found an unlikely ally yesterday in its economic war with the United States: American energy giant Exxon Mobil.

Putin gave the go-ahead for Exxon’s joint venture in Russia to begin drilling in the Arctic circle. Exxon’s deal with Rosneft was signed before the US imposed sanctions on Russia’s oil industry.
