I managed to fit a lot into my short trip to Phnom Penh, and have a few suggestions for you, should you plan on taking advantage of Emirates newest route out of Dubai.
Flights in July 2017 start from around 2,800Dhs return.
I stayed at Raffles Hotel Le Royal where a room in July 2017 costs approx 885Dhs per night.
The cycle tour was with Khmer Architecture Tours and cost approx 20Dhs for 3 hours.
Admission to The Killing Fields & the Toul Sleng Genocide Centre costs under 20Dhs each.
Lunch in a cafe, like Friends, a vocational training restaurant for under privileged children in the community, will cost around 35-40Dhs.
For a Saturday brunch head to Restaurant Le Royal at Raffles.
Best time to go to Phnom Penh;
Traditionally, November to April, when it’s sunny and dry.
Although, May to October is a lot greener, thanks to the short bursts of rain each day. Also, you’ll feel like the only tourist in town.
Siem Reap is a 45 minute internal flight or a 6 hour drive from Phnom Penh and makes a brilliant addition to the trip. Watch out for my video, coming soon.
