Ex-Congo VP Bemba awaits release from ICC detention
Former vice president of the Democratic Republic of Congo Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo is awaiting his release from a detention centre in The Hague.
Judges at the International Criminal Court ordered him to be let out after his convictions for war crimes and crimes against humanity were overturned.
The court said Bemba could not be held criminally liable for crimes committed by his troops in the Central African Republic in 2002-2003.
He will be freed in neighbouring Belgium, where his family lives, it added.
