Entry visa for transit passengers moves a step closer to fruition
Work is set to begin on a policy to grant entry visas to transit passengers across all of the UAE’s airports.
It’s after the UAE Cabinet gave the go-ahead for the policy, which aims to boost the country’s tourism sector by allowing passengers on a stopover to enjoy a day out in the Emirates.
Seventy per cent of all travellers who passed through the UAE’s airports last year were transit passengers.
A working group has now been formed to prepare the new policy, assessing the impact it could have on tourism and the economy as a whole.
