Uncapped 19-year-old Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named in England’s 23-man FIFA World Cup squad that was announced on Wednesday.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill and Manchester City’s Fabian Delph have been recalled, while goalkeeper Joe Hart and midfielder Jack Wilshere have been left out.

Chelsea’s young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope have also earned selection in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck are England’s attacking options.

Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana and Burnley keeper Tom Heaton are among the five players on standby for the tournament.

England start their Group G campaign against Tunisia on June 18, before games against Panama and Belgium.
