Emirates to buy 40 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, worth $15 billion
Emirates has signed a deal to buy 40 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, worth $15 billion (over AED 55 billion) – the first blockbuster deal of this year’s Dubai Airshow.
The deal was signed in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Last week, Emirates received its 100th A380 at the Airbus factory in Hamburg.
Shiekh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the CEO and Chairman of the Emirates Group, said Emirates will take delivery of the aircraft from 2022 onwards.
He said some of the 40 new Boeings will replace existing aircraft, while others will help satisfy rising demand for travel to and from the UAE.
